Summertime

This summer began with yet another Hensley adventure...this time with a broken leg via wakeboarding!  Big C broke his right tibia and fibula requiring surgery to insert a rod in the tibia.  He is now 3/4 metal in his lower extremities with only his right femur being all bone!  Everyone has teased him about not being able to go through a metal detector without a doctor's excuse!  We have a check-up tomorrow morning to check healing...keeping our fingers crossed for a good report!

The kids, on the other hand, have been living it up this summer.  Our dock was completed (except for the X-bracing, which will be finished late this summer or early fall) around the time of the above-mentioned leg break so the kids have been breaking it in right!  Having a dock is truly a blessing in that all we have to do is walk home when the mosquitoes begin to bite!! :)

Chester and I hosted this year's Hensley Family Reunion a couple of weekends ago and everything went very, very well!  Antoinette and I had quite an introduction to rotissiere cooking on Dale Scrivner's huge cooker!  The dock was very well-used by the end of the weekend!  We really enjoyed having family at our new place and look forward to hosting more in the future!
